RiverPark's Vision Statement:
Our vision is to become a people among whom God can live, and who in their life together will reproduce God’s life and character. The music department at RiverPark Community Church is a place where you can join with others to become a people who glorify God in song, but also in daily life. We invite you to join us on this journey in becoming what God has purposed us to be!

Colleen is the Pastor of Music here at RiverPark. Raised in a musical home and having played piano since the age of 5, she sensed a call on her life to lead worship in 1992 after attending a worship conference where her life was touched by a revelation of God's love. One of the founding members of RiverPark, she and her husband Tom hosted the first Saturday night services in the basement of their home in Waukesha and believe strongly that God has called this church into being for His purposes.
If this describes your heart and you would like to be involved in music here, please contact Laurie Wannenmacher at the church office to set up an audition with our music department committee. We’d love to get to know you and explore how you can be a part of the music team at RiverPark!
Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the saints! Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with tambourine and dancing.
Praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with the resounding cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
- From Psalms 149 and 150

Amongst those gathered at our Sunday morning service are different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Therefore, we respect and celebrate different personal styles of expression. While some of us are very quiet ("Be still and know that I am God!"), others are inclined towards making their voices heard ("Sing joyfully to the Lord...and shout for joy!") No personal style is "right" or "wrong". The important thing is that you worship God!
Music plays a very important role in all we do here at RiverPark. Music was created by God as a powerful vehicle through which He communicates His heart to us. Music, like all of the creative arts, bypasses the intellect, touches the emotions and has the ability to draw even the hardest heart into the presence of God. When beautiful melodies are combined with biblical truths, the result is that the Word of God gains greater entry into our souls. In fact, you’ll find it’s much easier to memorize a Bible verse that’s set to music than one that isn’t! God has uniquely anointed music as an agent of healing, as well as to encourage and energize us in the deepest places of our hearts. Anointed music in the hands of gifted musicians can have a powerful impact for God, and we are blessed to have so many gifted musicians and singers here at RiverPark!
Opportunities |
If you are a gifted musician or singer, there are many opportunities for you to allow God to minister through you here. Anyone with vocal or instrumental ability can be a part of our music department by serving in a varietyof ways. |
|
Worship Teams:
We have a team of musicians and singers that lead worship in our primary services. In addition, the women’s ministry, youth ministry and many of the small groups that meet here at the church or in homes also have worship teams.
|
Worship Band: |
Our excellent group of instrumentalists accompany the worship team in our primary services, as well as perform instrumental numbers for special events throughout the year. |
Vocal Ensembles:
In addition to the worship team, there are opportunities for singers to be part of mixed vocal ensembles, as well as men’s or women’s vocal groups. These ensembles sing at special services such as Christmas and Easter, and at other times throughout the year.
Soloists: |
| Those who have been gifted by God to sing or play their instrument in a solo capacity also have opportunities to minister for offertories or in other parts of our services, as well as for special events. |
 |
| As with any ministry, developing godly character and integrity is as important as developing our talent. For us to communicate God’s heart, we need to first experience Him ourselves. The most effective musicians are those who submit their talents to God and allow Him to minister through them. |
